We believe that everybody who faces a criminal allegation should have government funding for a competent defence, regardless of your circumstances. The costs of fighting a criminal case and instructing a qualified solicitor or advocate can be a real barrier to you fighting your case and protecting your good character and legal rights.
If you are arrested or invited to take part in a police interview, you are entitled to free and independent legal advice, no matter of your financial circumstances.
At court, however, government funding (legal aid) is means tested. Please contact us to discuss this further. We will be able to advise if you are eligible for legal aid.
For private paying clients we will always work on a fixed fee basis and explain in detail any possible additional disbursements so that there are no nasty surprises later on, and you can have peace of mind that the fee we quote will be all that you pay.
We try to be as flexible as possible in relation to costs and can tailor the way we work to keep costs to a minimum.
Please feel free to contact us for a no obligation discussion to see if you are qualify for legal aid. If you instruct us on a private paying basis, it is important for you to discuss your financial situation with us and agree what you can afford. We can suggest the service that fits your financial position; perhaps agreeing instalments or asking you to complete some of the administrative tasks that you can handle yourself, whilst we provide the representation at Court.
It is important that you obtain expert legal advice quickly, early intervention can make a very big difference to the cost and the outcome of a case. Early guidance can ensure you remain focussed on the key issues in the case. Where required we will instruct an Independent Barrister on your behalf.
